Received a scholarship to Rhode Island School of Design and then went on to study at Pratt Institute in NYC, where he expanded is training from fine art to commercial design.
In 1968 Marinsky went to the Tomassi Foundry in Pietrasanta, Italy, where he found great inspiration. In 1972 Marinsky located a Tuscan farmhouse in the village of Capriglia, just outside Pietrasanta. He created all his sculptures in a studio on the grounds of the Tomassi Foundry.
